Mediators View

Overview

In this view, we have :

  • The list of registered mediators in the left pane
  • The associated view in the "View" tab of the right pane
  • The registered interest Notifications for the view in the "interest" tab of the right pane

This view will help you to find out what's happening at the mediator level, and also to inspect the display list of the view associated with the selected Mediator.

Display list tab

When you select a Mediator in the mediators list, its associated view (if not null) will be found and analyzed, and finally displayed in a DisplayList component (the same used in KapInspect)
When you put the mouse over an item in this list, you will see a preview snapshot of the view in form of a tooltip. This could help you to find out what is the actual view associated with the proxy.

KapInspect integration

If KapInspect has been integrated into your application, and if it has been opened at least once, then you will be able to activate the popup menu on the items in the display list, and by this way to send objects to be further inspected into KapInspect

Interests tab

The second tab is for displaying the notifications registered by the selected Mediator, through the listNotificationInterests() method of the Mediator.
Thus, this list displays the names of these notifications.
You will be able to see what happens in real time at this level, as notifications will glow whenever they are dispatched.
To have an example of this, proceed as follows:

  • Select ApplicationMediator in the mediators list, you should see 5 registered notifications
  • Login into the application if not done yet
  • Select a user, go back, and play with the application

=> You should see notification glow in the interest panel.
