ConfluenceFx new release

by Steeve Cayla published on 20 Oct, 2010

Hello Kap Lab Community!

We are glad to announce the new release of ConfluenceFx.

In this 1.2.0 version, you'll find a new feature: less flood on your desktop with notifications! We've had several people asking for this, and ended up with new settings in order to let you select which types of resources you want to be notified on. Want to only receive notifications on comments, or only blogposts? Just tick the boxes in your settings.
As a Confluence admin, you may want to disable attachments notifications – as an example – for everyone so that they don't have to modify their own settings. It's possible now

Few improvements and bugfixes are also part of this release, like the auto-update that wasn't correctly working, or a freeze when moving the application while loading. More information is available in the release notes

Do not hesitate to give us feedbacks -- using our Jira tracker or our Forum.

Best regards,
Kap Lab team.

Back from Atlassian Summit 2010 - ConfluenceFx and so much more

by Yoann Lheudé published on 30 Jul, 2010

Hi folks,
From last June 9 to 11 was held the 2010 Atlassian Summit in San Francisco.

Four of us had the chance to participate the biggest event in Atlassian ecosystem.
As last year, Atlassian did a great job organizing this event.
We have just returned and want to share with you our experience.

ConfluenceFx 1.0

First of all, the commercial launch of ConfluenceFx v1, our desktop client for Confluence, has been a success.

Many attendees crowded around our booth we made lots of demonstrations providing precious feedback.
We have had fancy discussions with prospects and partners to sharpen our vision while enriching our network.
Steeve Cayla our product manager had a great presentation during the Launchpad competition.
Check out the video, you will see our live demo and Gliffy pirates, winners of the contest.

Atlassian News

The Summit was worthwhile with rich conferences and profuseness of announcements around Atlassian product line:

  • Confluence 3.3 will see open social gadgets in pages and its text editor improved with macro autocomplete, property panel and more.
  • The upcoming Jira 4.2 (in July) announces the "no more mouse" movement with its new shortcuts.
  • Jira Wallboard plugin is released in beta and introduces information radiators and development as a social activity.
  • Also Hercules, a promising support plugin (log scanner) for both Confluence and Jira was launched in beta.
  • Agile development tool Greenhopper 5 sees its user interface reengineered and shows drag and drop capabilities.
  • Confluence 4.0 will be released in 3 to 6 month and announces New Editor, the fusion of wikimarkup and rich text editor, with table cells merge, macro placeholders and fullscreen edition.

Atlassian roadmap was revealed: tighter product integration, workflow enhancement, DVCS and more.
Conferences and lightening talks brought to the table substance for techies and non techy people.
Parties and passageway talks were the occasion to exchange valuable experience with Atlassian staff, products users and fans.
Aussies know how to make party, we should never underestimate the value of having a beer with confreres.
