Is it possible to use the PureMVCConsole in a project that makes no use of Flex components? I have a pure AS3 project, compiling in FDT using the Flex 3.1 compiler. The main Application class extends Sprite, and I think thats part of the problem.

I have added an instance of the PureMVCConsole to my ApplicationFacade, as per the docs. When I run the project in debug mode I can see the trace statements coming from the console, but I cannot get the console display to appear. I really dont want to have to use MXML, or wrap my whole project in some sort sort of Flex wrapper. Is there some way of initialising just those parts of flex that are required to run the console? (admittedly I'm not a Flex user, so please excuse me if this is a dumb question)

Incidentally the project does use a load of Aswing components.

TIA for any help.

Currently, there is no possibility to use the consoles in AS3 applications

Thanks for this brilliant console.
Perfect for flex, but really disappointed we can't use it for an AS3 app!

Is there any workaround or tricks you can advise of.

thx guys

Sure it's hard for non Flex users, I understand that very well.
We should release a pure AS3 version of the tool someday, stay tuned.

It's actually harder for flex+flash users, because we get so used to it in flex that we terribly miss it in flash!

looking forward for the flash version!
great job guys!

Aaaah man! no support for pure Actionscript projects... i'm so disapointed (really i am).
What a crying shame... Why does this only support Flex? Surely the AS only version is easier to make? I hope you do make it one day but props for all your efforts so far.

Actually, if this was easy, it would already be here.
As I see demand is growing, I'll give it a try soon

Yeah i kind of guessed that much! If you want some help with any of this i would love to offer my services.

Is it really so hard? You've already got all the hooks in place as i can see them from the trace output. If the console is in Flex (so we can't use it in AS only) why not use a local connection or some kind of proxy to an external swf?
